Four $1,000 Scholarships awarded at Louisiana Cup

While the primary focus of the Louisiana Thoroughbred Breeders Association is supporting and promoting Louisiana bred thoroughbred breeding and racing, the LTBA recognizes the value of investing in the next generation. With this in mind, the LTBA gives two or more one thousand dollar scholarships to eligible college students at each of the four Louisiana bred stakes days.

Students must be enrolled full-time in an Accredited College, University or Community College, and be in good standing with the college to be eligible. Scholarship entrants only need to register before the first race and be present at the winners circle at the designated time when the winners are selected by random drawing….easy money and depending on the number of entrants, the odds are good.

At Louisiana Cup Day, August 31, 2024, a large number of college students entered for the scholarship drawing at Louisiana Downs. A total of four $1,000 scholarships were awarded after the fifth race of the day.

The next scholarship drawings will be at the Louisiana Champions Day Races, Saturday, December 14, 2024.
