LTBA Gives Two $1,000 Scholarships at Louisiana Legends Night

While the primary focus of the Louisiana Thoroughbred Breeders Association is supporting and promoting Louisiana bred thoroughbred breeding and racing, the LTBA recognizes the value of investing in the next generation. With this in mind, the LTBA gives two one thousand dollar scholarships to eligible college students at each of the four Louisiana bred stakes days.

College students wait outside the Evangeline Downs winners circle in hopes of winning one of two $1,000 scholarships.

Students must be enrolled full-time in an Accredited College, University or Community College, and be in good standing with the college to be eligible. Scholarship entrants only need to register before the first race and be present at the winners circle at the designated time when the winners are selected by random drawing….easy money and depending on the number of entrants, the odds are good.

At Louisiana Legends Night, June 1, 2024, the two lucky winners were Ella Martin, Louisiana State University (Eunice) and Cole Brumfield-Louisiana State University (Baton Rouge).

LTBA President, Warren J. Harang III; scholarship winners Ella Martin and Cole Brumfield; and LTBA Board Member, Tom Early.

The next scholarship drawings will be at the Louisiana Cup Races at Louisiana Downs, Saturday, August 31st.
